A. Information you provide
- Checkout and enrollment information: name, email address, purchase details (selected programs, pricing), and any information you submit during checkout.
- Support communications: information you include in emails to support@katzberginstitute.org.
- Certificate verification information: if you submit a verification request or use our verification tools, we may collect the certificate ID you enter and related metadata.
B. Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we may collect:
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, timestamps, and referring pages.
- Cookies and similar technologies: to operate the Site, improve performance, and maintain security (see Section 6).
C. Payment information
Payments are processed using Stripe. We receive transaction information (e.g., payment status, amount, date/time, and a transaction identifier), but we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
D. Course platform information (Thinkific)
After enrollment, we use your email address to provision or link access on Thinkific (our course delivery platform). Course progress, completion, and related learning records are maintained in Thinkific as part of providing the Services.
We use information to:
- Provide the Services, including processing enrollment, provisioning course access via Thinkific, administering programs, and delivering certificates.
- Operate and maintain certificate verification functionality.
- Provide support and respond to inquiries.
- Improve the Site and Services, including performance and security.
- Send communications related to your enrollment, deadlines, receipts, program access, and service updates.
- Send marketing emails where permitted by law, with an unsubscribe option included in each marketing email.
Center For Professional Studies offers a public certificate verification feature. When a third party enters a valid certificate ID, the verification result may display:
- Certificate validity
- Issuance date
- Student name
- Completion date
- Certificate type (honors or regular)
- Program name
- Emphasis (if any)
By enrolling in a program and earning a certificate, you acknowledge and agree that certificate details may be displayed through our public verification tool for legitimate verification purposes.
We may share information with:
- Payment processing: Stripe (to process payments).
- Course delivery: Thinkific (to create/link course access and deliver course content).
- Email delivery: Postmark (to send transactional and marketing emails).
- Site operations: hosting, security, and infrastructure providers as needed to run the Site.
- Legal/compliance: if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.
- Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. You may opt out at any time using that link.
- Transactional/operational messages (e.g., receipts, enrollment confirmations, password/setup messages from Thinkific, verification notices) may still be sent as needed to provide the Services.
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential site functionality
- Security and fraud prevention
- Basic measurement of site performance
We do not use retargeting ads based on site visits. We do not currently use a cookie consent banner. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect site functionality.
We use Google Search Console to understand how our Site appears in search and to monitor site performance in search results. Search Console provides aggregated metrics and does not provide us with full individual browsing histories.
We retain information as long as needed to:
- Provide Services (including maintaining certificate verification records)
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce our agreements
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
The Services are intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information, contact support@katzberginstitute.org.
We do not knowingly market to or enroll students outside the United States at this time. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent version.
